How long does the battery last and what happens when it runs low?

The Tapo RV30 Max Plus provides up to 150 minutes of continuous cleaning on a single charge. When the battery drops to around 20%, the robot automatically returns to its charging dock. After recharging, it resumes cleaning from exactly where it left off, ensuring complete coverage of your home without manual intervention.

Can I control which rooms get cleaned and set different settings for each room?

Yes, the Tapo app allows you to select individual rooms for cleaning or clean the entire house in a specific order. You can customise suction power (5 levels), water flow for mopping (3 levels) and cleaning frequency (1-3 passes) for each room separately. This means your kitchen might get high suction with mopping, while your bedroom gets gentle cleaning without water.

How does the auto-empty dock work and how often do I need to change the bag?

After each cleaning session, the robot returns to the dock which uses strong suction to empty 95% of debris from the dustbin into a 3L sealed bag. Under normal household conditions, this bag typically lasts 1-2 months before needing replacement. The system is completely sealed to prevent dust from escaping back into your home.

Will this robot vacuum work on multiple floors of my house?

The RV30 Max Plus can map and store up to 4 different floor plans. However, you'll need to physically move the charging dock to each floor initially for mapping. Once mapped, you can carry the robot to different floors for cleaning, though it will display "can't find dock" when finished since the dock remains on the original floor.

How well does the mopping function work and what floors is it suitable for?

The mopping system uses a removable water tank with 3 adjustable flow levels suitable for different hard floor types. It works well on laminate, tile and linoleum floors, automatically avoiding carpeted areas when the mop is attached. The system handles sticky spills and provides a polishing effect, though it's designed for maintenance cleaning rather than deep scrubbing.

What obstacles can this robot navigate around and what might cause it to get stuck?

The robot can climb thresholds up to 22mm high and navigate around furniture legs, cables and most household obstacles. The anti-drop sensors prevent falls down stairs. However, you should remove loose cables, small objects and lightweight items like slippers that could jam the brushes. Chair legs clustered together might also require lifting chairs onto tables.

How accurate is the mapping and can I set no-go zones?

The LiDAR navigation creates highly accurate maps within 15-20 minutes, automatically dividing rooms correctly in most cases. You can merge or separate areas, rename rooms and create virtual walls or no-go zones through the app. The mapping works in complete darkness and updates automatically when furniture is moved or rooms are reconfigured.

Is the robot vacuum compatible with voice assistants and how loud is it during operation?

Yes, it works with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control commands like starting, stopping, or sending it to specific rooms.
